During a firmware update my linkstation seem to have encountered and error. I was connected via TFTP Boot and ran the update through the LSUpdater.exe but after it rebooted a it couldn't be found. I waited several minutes then rebooted it my self. BUT now it boots then quickly the error light flickers, starts the beep, and the hard drive and all the light shut off but the beep persist. I've booted it in the EM mode and try to get the TFTP boot recovery to listen/ see it but it just says "accepting requests". I know it was set up right, because I could boot it in EM and the TFTP could see the linkstation and I could run the updater.

HELP! Is my linkstation dead? is there any way to bring it back to life?

There is no pattern. The power light comes on, then the link or ethernet light comes on and blinks a few times, then the error light flashes and the whole thing goes dark. BUT the error beep beeps, and beeps, and beeps...

Is it gone?

The error light should give you a pattern, normally a number of long, then a number of short blinks. There may only be a number of short blinks.

If you've tried the tftp boot recovery and the firmware update, and still can't get it to work, it may be gone, but it's hard to say without knowing the error.
