I have a drive mapping to my LinkStation that keep returning as unavailable form any of my Windows PC's. I can access the Web admin interface and everything appears fine. If I perform a restart, everthing appears again as normal for a random time period. I have been able to copy all my file off to another location so I'm good with whatever might need to be done as far a reformatting or reintializing the drive. I checked the firmware and I am running the latest version(2.11). Would reinitializing or formatting the drive fix the problem or is the drive dying?

Possibly, although if you've mapped the drives via hostname, try mapping them via IP address instead.

That was the first thing I tried, In fact two of my computers were setup that because it wasn't registered in DNS when set the mapping up.

On another note, I restarted the Linkstation approximately 24 hours ago and it still seem to be working fine. It usually disappears anywhre between 1 and 30 minutes after restarting. Usually all the files and directories disappear following by the shares and the it's like everything is gone. I can still ping by IP address and hostname as well I can get to the web interface always. Is there some hidden log or diagnostics that can be accessed that may tell me more?
