Hello,

Does anyone know how to open a Linkstation LS510 so that I can check and perhaps replace the disk?  The manual has a section saying to press the left of the unit and pull open the front, but I think that only applies to the two-bay model, not to the single bay model.

The reason I want to check this is because, after some months of sitting in a cupboard doing nothing,
I tried powering it up again, but am unable to access it.  Going to the GUI in my browser, I see this error:

"Please shut down the LinkStation and connect a hard drive."

It could be a loose cable, but I cannot open the box to check the drive.

I would be very grateful for any help offered on these two topics.

Hello.  The problem was related to the AC adaptor, which wasn't putting out a high enough Voltage.  I changed to a different 12V adaptor and now it works fine.

However, one day the HDD may need replacing, so if anyone could tell me how to replace the harddrive I would be very greatful.  On some NAS (MyBookLive, for example) you have to take the casing off, but the manual for this unit says that the front should pop open, though I cannot see how

It looks the same as the LS210, there are some notes about taking those apart here: https://buffalonas.miraheze.org/wiki/Linkstation_LS210D
