Dear Buffalo Tech,

Just plugged in a new 3 TB Drivestation HD-LBU3 purchased in Hong Kong yesteray - 3 year warranty. Cannot reboot server unless the Unit is unplugged, otherwise this black screen startup error fires everytime : "REBOOTING DUE TO UNEXPECTED NMI AT CS : IP E2AF : 01A2"

Also, this is a Windows 2003 R2, IBM System X 3200 M2 Server, so cannot install any of the software - nor will it run in compatibility mode with XP.

Does Buffalo know of an accurate way to edit Config.sys to allow the unit to remain plugged in everytime after a re-boot?

For example, this solution for a similar issue was posted in a Symantec Support Advice - PLEASE READ THIS :

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH52717">http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH52717

Lastly - is there anyway to run Turbo PC and Turbo Copy in Windows 2003 R2 SP 2 - OR, is there a driver solution to the NMI rebooting error?

Don't want to have to take the Unit back for an exchange if a fix can be provided by Buffalo.

Appreciate your time and help here - Amen

Thanks and Blessings..

Elijah

Dear Buffalo Tech,

We have an:

IBM Lenovo ThinkServer
Model TS100
MT-M 6434-13G

running Windows 2003 Enterprise Server R2

I plugged in a new: TRANSCEND STOREJET 35T3 3.5" 3TB USB 3.0HDD, purchased in Johannesburg (South Africa).

Problem: Cannot reboot server unless the Unit is unplugged, otherwise this black screen startup error fires everytime:

"Re-booting due to Unexpected NMI at CS:IP E298:01A2"

This quite obviously has nothing to do with the operating system, as it appears even before the F12 induced boot menu appears on screen . . .

Does Buffalo know what can be changed in the CMOS settings? I've been through it a couple of times, made changes, all to no effect!

Thanks.
