External Hard-disk (HD-PXT1TU2) is not recognized by Windows XP

The HDD works fine on Windows 7 but it cannot be seen on windows xp sp2.

In Device Manager, it shows yellow exclaimination marks "USB Device". It also cannot be seen in Disk Manager.

 

I find several update on chipset drivers (ASUS P4V8X-MX) but it doesn't seem to help at all. Please help me on this.

(PS. S/N of the HDD is 75571114114951. I don't understand why the download page in the web said that it is invalid.)

Windows XP cannot recognize GPT partition tables, only DOS partition tables.

Windows 7 can read GPT partition tables.  If the disk was formatted under Win 7, most likely it has a GPT partition table.

That is not the case as the OP states that the USB drive can't been seen in either the device manager or the disk manager
