Rebuilding RAID Array Question

Hello all. I have a LS-WXL with 2 x 1TB drives.

It is setup with Raid 1 and now drive 2 in the raid config reports Error (E30). Drive 1 is still good.

I read in other threads that sometimes rebuilding the raid array will fix that drive, but I am a little concerned.

Can I be sure that Drive 1 will be used as "source" for the rebuild so that drive 2 will be "fixed" and updated with data from drive1...and NOT visa versa?

I mean..how does the station know that drive 1 is the one to rebuild "from" ?

if in the system / storage section it shows HDD1 as "error" then this is the HDD that will be rebuilt.

However ensure you have a backup before doing anything, RAID is not a backup.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

No Drive 2 is the one showing Error.

But as I understand it then it will automatically rebuild from the "good" drive TO the "bad" drive".

sorry, i ment to say HDD2, not 1 :P

Thank you very much. Now my bloodpressure went down again.

I DO have all important stuff backed up to 2 different drives, but I remember how long THAT took :) And on top of the rebuild process time I would love to spare that restore process :)

Thank you for your fast response.
