Read Only Issue / 6 TB / LS-WV6.0TL/R1

Hello Everyone,

 

He have just acquire a Buffalo 6 TB / LS-WV6.0TL/R1 to serve as a storage "server" to hold all the information in our office. We previously used a computer to which every member connected via Ethernet where connected and could access the office information.

 

A few days ago, we transferred all our information to our Buffalo NAS via Smart Sync. Everything is running Ok, except that we are not able to change the attributes of our files to "Read Only" which is a crucial part of how our information system works on our office. If we are not able to change the attributes of certain files to "Read Only" we are exposed to overwrite information on files that have been already delivered to our clients.

 

All office members (10 total) are running Windows 7 @ 64bits, and we are all connected via Ethernet through a router to the NAS. Each time someone wants to change the attributes of a file, the process is just not done at all, on other cases, a window that says:

 

"You will need to provide administrator permission to change these attributes"

Then> click on  Continue button

 

And following these a message:

 

"An error occurred applying attributes to the file: ***** Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password" with options of just ignore, ignore all, try again or cancel... but with no success on either to change the file attributes.
