TS III iSCSI storage VLAN support

Hello,

we need to connect two VMware ESXi 5.5 hosts to a TS III iSCSI storage (a TS-RIXL running firmware version 1.61).

Basically, we need to present to a Veeam Backup & Replication VM running on the VMware cluster a LUN from the TS III iSCSI storage. Once we format the drive from within our Veeam Backup & Replication VM to NTFS we will use it as a secondary storage/repository that will receive backup copies from the primary backup storage using the BackupCopy feature.

As a best practice we would like to segregate iSCSI storage and LAN traffic, so we are planning to create a separate VMkernel port group for IP storage per each ESXi host.

The iSCSI unit should be best connected to the existing environment with a NIC connected into a "Management VLAN" in order to access the TeraStation's web-based configuration utility and a NIC connected into a dedicated VLAN for IP Storage, however the TS III iSCSI storage does not seem to support VLAN functionality with the current 1.61 software.

Any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Massimiliano
