TeraStation 5400 - 4 failed units separately RMA'd, has anyone ever had a similar experience??

We ordered (2) 12TB Terastation 5400 units. We loaded one up with about 4TB of data with the intention of getting it to replicate / mirror to the 2nd.

Before we could finish loading up all data, the unit started exhibiting issues, pausing, and eventually becoming inaccessible. We plugged in a monitor / KB as directed by Buffalo support, and it showed "FIXING RECURSIVE BOOT ERROR BUT REBOOT NEEDED" ... and the systems never boot up past this. One unit needed to go to DRIVE SAVERS for advanced recovery which ended up costing over $5000. We RMA'd the first unit and got another, and before we could get the replacement unit installed, the 2nd unit failed in EXACTLY the same way. So we ended up with 2 RMA's. We got 2 brand new units, and one of the replacement units ended up exhibiting the same exact symptoms and failed within a week in exactly the same way. Then the same thing happened AGAIN...witin 6 weeks, we returned 4 units for replacements....and even now, the (2) that we have are starting to exhibit the same issues YET AGAIN.

I cannot in good faith put any meaningful data on these units since I've had 4 crashes and a disaster recovery in a clean room...at this point I'm going through the motions to see if I EVENTUALLY get a stable device.

- They are on a UPS
- They are in a climate controlled data center
- There are 7 servers in this location and a Dell Equallogic SAN and all of this equipment does not have issues

Can anyone tell me if they've had similar issues?
