Hello, Buffalo Literature and Website state NO FAN, but pictures show a FAN. ??? Is a fan factory installed or an aftermarket user install? Which is correct on the HD-LB2.0TU3? I'd prefer a Fan to keep the drive cooler while it running. Thanks.

Jotin

This unit does have a fan. The picture is showing that the fan is user replaceable.

Hi there - this thread is a bit old, I know but:  I just bought a 1TB drivestation (HD-LB1.0TU3-A4 to be precise) and in the back, there is no fan. But there is a round fan vent, in front of a fan-shaped space inside the box, next to a couple of unused contacts.  Is there a problem here, or does anyone know of these things being shipped without fans by mistake?

Hi

I'm thinking of getting a 3TB DriveStation Axis, too. Can any user confirm whether or not the product comes with a fan installed?

Thanks.

Drivestation Axis has a place for a user-installable fan, but does not include a fan.

I guess its well established that the drive does not come with a fan installed.

But the questions still remain.

What size fan can be fitted & what voltage?

I'd be happy to find I'm an incomp, if the information is readily available and someone can direct me to it; but so far I haven't been able to find anything other than this amusing thread.

I have measured the space for the fan as being just over 30mm square and know the fan socket is a three pin.

So can anyone advise what fan suits and what voltage?

Necroed thread is necroed.  Braaaiiiins.

Specs for the fan, hmm. looks like a 30x30x10 12v fan to me. We don't sell those addons in the US, but here is the site for buffalo JP where I got my info, Chrome translated it enought to read it. While I wont guarantee that will work, that looks like it to me.

Thanks you for the link info.

Found conformation that the fan listed as being for the HD-LEMU2 series will fit and work in HD-LB2.0TU3

I am attempting to obtain one if I can ever make sense of any of the 4 different translations for the Japanese mailing address  given by  Tenso forwarding co.
