Hidden Shared Folders?

I've got a few folders on my Terastation TS XLF84 on which I have set up access restrictions, and I want to hide those folders from the users who can't have access to them.  If I tick the 'hide share' box then no-one can see the folder, even those who are allowed access.  I tried setting up a shortcut from the desktop, then hiding the folders, but then the shortcut can't find the folders.

 

Is there a way of hiding the restricted folders only from those users who don't have access?
