Hello everyone,

My office recently purchased 2 x TeraStation TS-RVHL2E8 I have one that will be in an offsite location for backup of the first Terastation on the local Lan. I have forwarded the 3 ports in the firewall as instructed. When I view the NAS Devices I put my off-site IP in and both terastations are found. I have turned on replication to test and found that it is working fine. But my problem lies when I attempt to schedule a backup job. I select the share on the local Terastation, Then select the Backup Share on the offsite Terastation both are found fine in the source/target selection. I press apply for Immediate backup to test. After 3-5 minutes I will have an error showing for the backup status.

-------- BEGIN BACKUP 2012/12/21 09:02:06 array1/TEST -> Backup@array1/Backup --------

rsfwdc: connect: Connection timed out

rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104)

rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(794) [sender=3.0.3]

-------- END BACKUP 2012/12/21 09:05:16 array1/TEST -> Backup@array1/Backup --------

What could be my problem?
Thanks,

Jordan

Okay to update, It looks like it only fails with that error when I turn on the encrypted backup option.
