Incompatible drives?

I have a LS-WXL/E that we have purchased from Newegg in China that came without any drives. To fill it, we purchased two, Seagate 2TB drives, model ST2000DM001. Newegg is telling us that the drives are "not compatible" with this Linkstation Duo unit, and therefore they will not accept the return. But I can not find ANY list online or elsewhere which lists a compatible list of drives for this unit. And I can't understand why a very common 2TB Seagate Harddrive would not be "compatible" with this unit.

Oh, it's probably important to note that we get an "error" when we try to install the drives. I followed the installation instructions exactly and I get an error code about 2 minutes into the installation and the installation fails.

2 slow flashes followed by 2 fast flashes. Tried twice with two different drives (but the same model). The Buffalo tech in China that we called said that it's probably a bad unit. This is the second time we've had to return the unit (the first time it KILLED the two drives so we've had to replace everything). But China New Egg refuses to take the unit back. And there is absolutely no response from any Buffalo rep in here. Last time I'm buying anything with the name "Buffalo" on it.

My apologies for the difficulties you have experienced. In terms of the hard drives to be used in our LS-WVL/E series units, it is highly advisable that our customers use drives listed on our recommended hard drive list, available at the following link:
