TFTP Boot stuck in 'Accepting Requests'

I have replaced the drives in my Linkstation LS-WXL/R1 series unit and I am trying to use the TFTP Boot recovery program to restore the boot sectors and make the drives available on the network.

I have downloaded the TFTP Book program and followed the instructions to set the PC to 192.168.11.1, disabled the firewall, connected the drive directly to the PC using an Ethernet cable.  I have verified the PC is set to the correct IP with IPCONFIG in the command window.  When I boot to EM mode I can see that the drive has an IP address of 192.169.11.150 using NAS Navigator and that it is in EM mode.  From the reading I have done here, and in the FAQs this seems like all I need to perform a boot recovery.

When I run the TFTP Boot Recovery it states that:

-          It is listening on 192.168.11.1:69

-          Listening on 127.0.0.1:69

-          Permitted clients: all

-          Server port range: all

-          Max Blksize: 65464

-          Default Blksize: 512

-          Default interval: 3

-          Overwrite existing files: No

-          Thread pool size: 1

-          Accepting requests . . . .  . .

And there it sits.  No data blocks are served.  I have tried rebooking the PC and the drive multiple times and I have tried pushing the 'Function' button on the back for 5 seconds and in rapid succession.  What else should I try?

Thanks,

Paul

your either using the wrong TFTP image or you have some security software still enabled on the PC that is blocking the TFTP requests.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

The unit I have is an LS-WX1.0TL/1D.  The TFTP boot recovery I am using is the LS-WTGL-v1 1.08.exe.

Does that sound correct?

Nope! your using the wrong TFTP image.

Use this one: ftp://24.153.165.234/array1/share/nas-recovery/TFTP%20Boot%20Recovery%20LS-WXL%201.33.exe" target="_blank">ftp://24.153.165.234/array1/share/nas-recovery/TFTP%20Boot%20Recovery%20LS-WXL%201.33.exe

I gave this another try tonight.  I downloaded the TFTP Boot Recovery LS-WXL 1.33.exe fileand ran it.  Like before the Linkstation was shown by NAS Navigator as being in EM mode and on 192.168.11.150  The PC was set to 192.168.11.1 and confirmed using IPConfig.  The firewall was turned off and when it didn't work I rebooted in Windows 7 safe mode and retried everything.  Not a peep.  The TFTP sits there 'Accepting requests' and no blocks served.

I re-booted the computer again out of safe mode and re-tried and re-booted the LS several times.  I also tried pushing the Function buttom on the LS for five seconds (multiple times).  Is there anything else I can try?
