Hi,

This is my seccond linkstation:

LinkstationLS-V3.0TL

I have nothing attached to the USB drive

I have my LS set up to go to send reports on errors via email. Every now and then Im starting to receive this error:

DISK Error Notification

HDD error occurred

Disk(s) the error ocurred: "Disk 1"

Disk Cannot be mounted

 I have the latest firmware on there.

The only change that I've made was to change the bitorrent download directory to another folder, that I also use for DNLA.

Overall the disk is working ok, downloading from bittorrent and I can access all my files normaly.

BR,

gindelli

I would say that the drive is about to fail on you, If i were getting this error I would be safe and make sure I have two copys of the files.  Then I would replace the drive just to be safe and rebuild the array.

It's a brand new linkstation, less than 1 month of use. I've performed a disk check, but I didn't receive any report of the status. let see if I continue to receive the error notifications...

Hi, after performing a disk check, i still receive the disk error notifications every 5 days average. Is there any other test that I could do?

Jotin

If the unit is sending false reports then I would try restoring the interface or even possibly reflashing or updating the firmware. If you are not on the latest firmware then you can simply update. If you are then you can use FAQ 2 of 5 to reinstall the firmware.

Hi,

I've tried to perform Faq 2 of 5, but it seems that the buffalo linkstation series updater ver.1.54 doesn't have an option for debug, just three buttons: update, find and quit.

If I hit update, after insterting my password, it says that the pc and linkstation firmware are the same. Updating is not necessary.

I've changed the lsupdater file and changed:

[SpecialFlags]
Debug = 1

[Flags]
VersionCheck = 0
NoFormatting = 1

Thanks, I successfully performed a forced firmware update, and i stopped receiving the error notification for a couple of days, but the started to appeared again. Any other suggestion?

Thanks,

Jotin

How many errors are you getting next to the disk in the email? Are you getting any specific error code?

Two firmware updates since this problem was introduced. I get it too in my Linkstation Live Pro. If you go back to firmware 1.54, the problem disappears.  There's obviously an issue, I just wish they'd address it
