file structure problem?

When attempting to save a file to TeraStation Multimedia Home Server NAS I get the following error:

"The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect"

The application uses a "save as" dialogue to add a .jpg extension to the filename which appears to fail.  When I manually add ".jpg" to the end of the filename it saves ok.

The filename does not violate any naming rules.  Is there some kind of file structure problem with the NAS?

any help appreciated.  Thanks
