I have a MiniStation Turbo USB which I use predominantly with my Macbook. However, I also need to use it in conjunction with various PCs on Windows OS. My problem is that it wont identify on any of the PCs so far.

Is there a way to reformat the drive so it can be compatible across both platforms? I've tried burning the relevant software to a CD and re-installing or reformatting on a PC, but because the machine isn't recognised I can't even do that.

You will need to reformat the drive into FAT32, which is the file system that came on the drive. In order to do this on your Mac do the following:

1) go to applications -> utilities -> Disk Utility

2) in Disk Utility select the Buffalo drive

3) Go to the erase tab and set the filesystem to MS-DOS (FAT) and click apply

Once this is done the drive should be viewable on both PC and Macintosh systems.
