Wondering if anyone can help, using the bittorrent client and files download great and are placed in a bittorrent folder. The only problem is these files are read only so I cannot move/delete them.

I have tried to ftp in as "admin" user to use chmod 777 <<filename>> to get RW access but permission denied, I can see that the files are now owned by "root" user, I do not see any documentation regarding the default root user password, is there a way to find this out or an alternative (none warranty voiding) way to change these file permissions?

My Linkstation is a: LS-CHL F/W 1.02 1TB

Cheers in Advance.

Pretty much did the default options. downloads going to a share\downloads folder, BitTorrent seemed to create the bittorrent folder automatically and all file in the folder have the following permissions:

-rw-r--r--   1 root     root     366925824 Jan 14 23:43 24.S07E01.HDTV.XviD-LOL.avi

with the bittorrent folder having permissions:

drwxr-xr-x   4 root     root         4096 Jan 16 11:38 bittorrent

and trying to do a chmod under my admin user I get a permission denied error:

ftp> chmod 777 bittorrent
550 bittorrent: Permission denied
