Hi,

Sorry if this is a noob question, and apologies if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find anything in the forum for this LS.

My drive seems to have entered EM, when it failed a firmware update.  I've connected the drive directly to the laptop, but the FW Updater is still reporting that there are no Linkstations connected.

Is there an easy way to revive my drive?

Ta,

Sam

Sorry, should add that the laptop is running XP SP2.  The original FW was 2.05, and the (attempted) upgrade was to 2.30.

Which firmware are you using? There are 2 different version of those linkstations (v1 and v2) make sure you are using the correct version.

Note: V1 is the version with a network switch on the back, v2 does not have this switch.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

   There's no switch on the back, so I guess it's a v2.

Download the 2.05 firmware and connect direct, set a static IP on the network card of the PC to match the linkstations IP and deactivate all AV and firewall (this includes the Windows one also) then run the updater.

Thanks for your assistance Davo.  Do I need to connect USB-USB or LAN-LAN?

I'll have a crack at this tonight and let you know how I get on.

Cheers,

Sam

LAN to LAN, and dont forget to set a static IP on the network card of the PC to match the IP range of linkstation, but dont set the same address of course ;)
