Using Auto mode and Webaccess

Model being used:

Linkstation Live 1TB LS-CH1.0TL

Everything with my NAS has been working great so far.  But I have a quick question:

When putting the network drive in the Auto power mode, will the hard drive be powered up when being accessed via Webaccess?  I know the manual says, "When using Web Access, it is best to leave the Power Mode switch set to "On".  Does this translate to "MUST" be in the "On" mode? Or will it just take an extra minute or two the first time you log on via Webaccess to boot the hard drive?

I only ask because I cannot afford to get to work and not be able to access my hard drive, so I cannot really "learn the hard way" if you know what I mean.  Thanks for any help, it is greatly appreciated.

When in doubt, leave the power switch in the ON position. I doubt that accessing via webaccess sends the necessary signal to the Linkstation to power it back up if its sleeping. I'll double check this for you.

Thanks mate.  Let me know what you find out when you double check it.
