I bought a new LS-Pro 2TB and the fan runs constantly. Is this normal? It's loud and annoying.

Be glad it's running. I came to the forum today because I was looking into one of my Drivestation Duos, and as I pulled one of the disks out I almost burnt my hand. So am hoping there is some way to increase the fan speed because I'd rather have a little more noise than burn my disks out.

That said, have you powered off your unit and double-checked the fan to see if there may be something loose?

I've tried powering it on and off with no change.I've emailed Buffalo twice but no response yet. I am just not sure if it is normal for the fan to run constantly. I thought it only came on when the unit got hot. For now i have it burried in a cabinet because i can't stand the noise.

the will always run, if you find that it is loud you can easily remove it and clear it of dust or obstructions.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Better to run that not to run in this case.
