After 1 day on Vista 64 bit

Seems good so far a few niggles, never installed a network hard drive before so didn't know about mapping drives etc

Memeo software seems to have installed but fails to start up when double clicking the icon - a vista 64 bit problem??

Was expecting transfer speed to be faster over network, 7 minutes to transfer a 1.5 gig file seems quite slow especially if your going to be backing up a complete drive containing a lot of gb's.

Trash folders - these seem a bit annoying i'd rather just something was deleted than set up these folders each time though i think there is a setting i seen somewhere to disable it - will try later

Bittorrent - THE major factor i was interested in when buying the unit after all they aren't cheap these things and was glad to see this feature works quite well several torrents downloaded in the night without having the noisy pc on is brilliant and makes use of my connection at 'off peak' time. Downside is i can't move any files into the to torrent folders to host uploads just says permission denied when trying to move files into it.

ON/OFF/AUTO - As i been using the bittorrent it made sense to have 'ON' selected but tried the 'AUTO' setting - drive turned off when pc did but didn't then restart when pc was turned on - maybe a vista thing i don't know.

Web Access - tried to get a friend to access via buffalonas but he got some weird message about certificates or something so need to try and see if i can access at work (company security settings permitting)

Any suggestions on these points would be appreciated

Paul

Go to my computer tools then map network drive \\ip_of_nas\folder name

memeo will not work on 64 you can check out memeo.com for updates

transfer speeds, you can adjust the jumbo packets in the network settings

Trash folders can be disabled in the share folder setup page of the unit.

the bittorrent issue is known and should be fixed with the next firmware update please check buffalotech.com for updates

for the auto function make sure you are running the nas navigator software, this sends keep alive packets to the unit.
