Hello, I purchased this drive a few months ago and was aware before purchasing it that it didn't come with any software.  However, I was wondering if anyone knows of any software for external hard drives that I could use to check the health of this drive?  I've tried using Hard Disk Sentinel, but it will not detect it properly.  Any suggestion would be great, as I want to store important data on the drive.

Windows has a built in feature called Checkdisk (CHKDSK)

-Go to Start-->Run (or hold the Windows Key and press "R" for Vista/7) this should bring up a run line

-type "cmd". This will open up a black DOS screen like the old computer days.

-type "E:" (or whatever the drive letter is". If you don't know the drive letter it should be displayed in "My Computer". This should change the prompt from "C:" to the letter of the drive.

-Type "CHKDSK /R". It may take a long time to complete (hours sometimes depending on size)
