I have a HS-DH500GL that is not clicking but can not access files.  Windows does not see it but NASNAVI does see it.  I tried taking the hard dive out and putting it in another HS-DH500GL (working) but the working unit does not see the hard drive either.  So,  under nomral circumstances are the hard drives interchangeable?  I briefly looked in FAQ but did not see the answer to this question.

I got the unit to work by updating the firm ware while in EM mode.

I have a new problem now. After install ing the new firmware, the Share directory is there with all my data that is under the share directory but the created folders that are on the same hiarchy as the share folder are not there.  Am I out of luck at this point?

Sounds like a file table corruption, I would consult a data recovery center.  My apologies.
