Please help?

So I wisit my mom and her laptop is really slow..

I were watching some movies from my external drive and after that I try to save some pic to my drive..

to a place where all my photos were.. like 7 folder and maby 500+ pic on each..

and win vista start to do something, and my pic dint saved,it just try to do something (green bar grow? dunno whats that, I have XP and not vista )

and so I made a CRITICAL mistake and plug off the external driver..

and Now there is nothing! Driver is tilt.

so the MBR master boot record or what ever that is.. is lost? and there is no simple way to get the files to show again?

The drive is now unknown and 0kt size and I cant get it to even see that is there.. only in disk manager I see that its "there" but ist not.. it shows 0kt unknown.. yet it also say working normal (all the names are in Finnish so I try to translate them but Im not sure what are the real names for everything)

I try to download stuff from here but it say my serial is wrong?

Thank you.

By disconnecting it during a transfer process the file table probably became corrupt.  There isn't a way to recover this easily and all I can suggest is take the drive to a data recovery professional.  My apologies.

Petteri

that's what I feared.. dunno what vista were doing, saving that one pic take forever (5min) so Im only thinking that somekinna stupid file read for some visual folder picture take place? for with my own comp I have never  encountered anything like that. My moms laptop here is absolytly something I have not become one with.. lucky today can finaly go home and see if I can do anything.. with this mobile internet thing its too slow..

Thanks for the answer

Too bad there is no easy way to restore main file info, so woud pay litte extra for that :) now getting files back must be expensive.

It's true that data recovery is expensive and I wish there was some way to rebuild the file table without formatting but that is what looks to be the case.
