Upgrade to larger disk on Linkstation Live HS-DH500GL

Trying to install a 1TB disk drive into my  HS-DH500GL. 

 

Did a drive copy from the old 500gb to the new 1TB drive.   With the new 1TB disk,  the Link Station boots ok, but the data partition is only  495gb.  Couldn't find anything in the Link Station utilities or maintenance to expand the data partition. 

 

The data partition file system looks to be XFS, so I tried building a Parted Magic 5.1 bootable Linux CD.  It saw the drive, connected to the USB port of my PC, but it could not increase the partition size.  Seems the kernal on the CD did not have XFS support. 

 

Before I try to remaster a Linux boot disk with XFS support, I thought I might try this forum to see if anyone has an easier idea how to get a full sized data partition set up. 

 

My setup...

Linkstation Live  HS-DH500GL  

    Old:      500gb Samsung hard disk with 495gb data partition

    New:         1tb  Samsung hard disk with 495gb data partition

 

Connected to D-Link Gigabit switch  with ...
        Desktop: Custom Intel PC 3.6mhz, 2gb ddr2, 1TB main drive, 500gb 2nd drive
        Laptop:  Dell Lattitude D630 dual core laptop 2gb ddr2, 120gb main drive
        Theater: Acer Veriton L410 Athlon X2 4400 dual core, 2gb ddr2, 750gb main drive

Its been a few days with no ideas.  I find it hard to believe nobody has tried to upgrade to larger disks. 

I'd appreciate any helpfu; ideas.

Just replace the drive in the unit, flash the firmware and format the unit through the drive. The updator might even ask for the unit to be formated during the update process.
