FW Upgrade Failure HS - DH 1.0 TGL / R5

Hi Guys

 

Trying to update the Firmware on a unit that had a kernel error on start up.

 

Av Disabled and Firewall disabled.

 

The FW upgrade goes through fine and then reports Waiting for system restart. The system has restarted and says do not shut down FW upgrade in progress. This message stays like this for hours. Meanwhile obviously the FW Upgrade tool says do we want to carry on waiting.

 

The reason we are dong the FW upgrade was due to the kernel error at start up. We could not connect to the Terastation with this error so we discovered that drive 1 removed enabled the terrastation to start up and be detected, but started in emergency mode with no array info. So currently the FW upgrade is being complete without drive 1

 

How long should this firmware upgrade actually take when files have transferred to the Terastation and the terastation reboots with the message FW update in progress

The firmware update should not take longer then 10 to 15 minutes. If your having issues you may want to try a force firmware option or a tftp boot. Both of these processes are listed in the frequently asked questions in the forum.

You can reflash it with firmware 1.10 it good, then you can update to 1.33 when you update to 1.33 you shold not check rebuild partiotion. If you check rebuil parttition it will can not boot.

I do not know why but this bug is happen to me

When you check rebuild partition table in the debug settings it formats and recreates the partition tables for the NAS.  If there was a dormant firewall software that interrupts the firmware update process then you will end up with a unit that needs to have TFTP performed before you can update the firmware again.
