Power saving on Vista HD-HB

I have been trying on and off for months to get the power saving utility to work on Vista.

Any help? Drive is an external HD-HB300.

In need of two new ext drives but won't be going for a buffalo drive if I can't sort this.

The power save utility does not work with Vista. I'll forward the issue to our corporate office.

It's starting to become a little annoying

Last time I tried it worked but then computer was unable to shutdown / sleep / hibernate.

 

Not cool.

Yet another request to see if anything has been done to resolve this problem.

Doubtful anything will be done because:

 

1. The HD-HB has been discontinued for SEVERAL years.

2. It was never supported with Windows Vista.

3. Windows Vista has been surpassed by Windows 7

Should have mentioned....

Same thing with the Drivestation HD-CEU2

Three of those.....have to use them constantly spinning.

Install the eco-manager...windows hangs on shutdown.

Will go into sleep and wake up but then as soon as I try to access a file on any of the Buffalo discs Windows hangs.
