Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone is having this problem ?

I have bought a LinkStation Live 2TB from Amazon in May 2010. Set up went well but then almost immediately I get the "I11 bad sectors" message in NasNavi. It also says to upgrade firmware or call tech support. The unit was on firmware version 1.24. I upgraded to 1.26 with great difficulty but it did not help.

The error message appears every time, even after a reboot. In some case, it goes into Emergency mode.

I called tech support and they said to return the unit to Amazon which I did. Amazon sent me another one back.

However, the same problem occurs. With tis 2nd unit, I upgraded to firmware 1.31. And I left the unit up and running without accessing it for a whole night and the blue solid light stayed on. I then tried to start a few torrent downloads. They started alright but after a couple of hours, the error message appeared again. For a little while after that, I could still access the unit via the shares or via web admin, and the downloads were still in progress, but a little bit after that, I lost completely touch with the unit. The shares were lost, I could not use web admin...

I rebooted 20 times and it is always the same. It stays on for a while, starts to download torrent and then drops out for some reason.

It is doing my head it. The product is fantastic on paper but it just does not stay on more than a couple of hours at a time !

Has anyone had this problem ? Have you found any solution ?

By the way, both units I obtained from amazon were manufactured in April 2010. Perhaps it was a bad batch.

It does sounds like the run of drives enclosed in that unit became damaged somehow in a shipment.  From the end user persepective it is suggested that even if the unit is accessable for only a couple of hours try running a disk check, this may help to resolve the issue.  The alternative option is you can try returning to Amazon again or contact our tech support and opt for an RMA.
