Hello out there!

I have a Buffalo 500gig XTHD that's about 4 years old and was wondering how long before I should get a new one. It's on and plugged in all the time so the drive disk is spinning and that can't last forever.

thanks

There is no way to determine hard disk life overall, there is a series of factors, time up and running, dust, general climate are a few to consider.  Sounds like the drive has had some care taken with it, and it not constantly pounded with read/writes so there is a good chance there are a few more years of life with the drive
