Hi all...

I was wondering if anyone can help me with the problem I am facing since I received 2 new NAS drives from Amazon (LS-WX3.0TL/R1).

Ever since I installed them i've been getting the E06 problem and i'm unable to configure the devices.

I read this forum and followed the TFTP steps together with the Force Firmware update steps but to no avial :(

What I realized is that even though I am connecting the device directly to my PC with a standard network cable and manually configuring my PC's IP to 192.168.11.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 the TFTP work well but when the device goes into EM Mode it has another IP, not 192.168.11.150 but instead 169.254.*.* (the stars represent different numbers everytime) and the subnet is 255.255.0.0 instead of 255.255.255.0

Even with this IP problem NAS Navigator 2 finds the device and recommends to update the IP address to which I accept, and start the Force Firmware update process, but during the process the device IP changes back to 169.254.*.* and this causes an unsuccessful update, and on reboot the E06 problem is still there.

Please note that this is the same problem on 2 different devices, so there must be something wrong....

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate... I have also tried the same things in Safe Mode with Networking but that resulted in the same results.

Somebody please help!!!! :smileysad: :smileysad: :smileysad:

Sounds like there is a DHCP conflict happening within your computer, I would suggest a program like ALAX or such which you can just turn on and off as needed, but will keep network devices connected to your PC on a dedicated IP range

I have disabled DHCP and have manually set my PC's IP address and also the PC and NAS are directly connected to each other via a network cable...

either way i'll try this and see how it goes... i'll keep you posted...

thanks :smileyhappy:
