I upgraded the firmware (tsx164) on my TS-XEL/R5 nas with 4 disks back in october.
After the upgrade I've been unable to get in contact with it.

When booting, after the disks are powered on, the power button remains blinking green, the display is red saying "Initialize SATA 0Channnel".

Any hints or tips?

Got exactly the same problem.

What did you do to solve ut ?

This has happened on occasion after shutting down and rebooting one of my Terastation units.  Press and hold the power button to force a shutdown of the unit.  Hold the button down unit it actually shuts off. The back light on the LCD display may remain lit after it shuts down; if so, just press the button once again briefly and it should go off.  I usually wait a few minutes to allow the electronics on the circuit boards to go to ground state (0 volts).  Restart the unit and it should power up correctly. Mine always have. Obviously, pay attention to any warnings or notices for bad drives, etc. and let the unit rebuild the array if that is necessary.  Always have a backup.

Did this resolve your issue?  It doesn't seem to be helping me........
