I've been using this hard drive for a few months and had no problems, but when I plugged in my hard drive to my laptop a few days ago, a message pops up and says that my USB device is not recognizable. I've tried plugging it in other laptops and computers, but the same error pops up.

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Model: HD-CE1.0TU2

Serial Number: 95504490907762

Im having the same problem. My harddrive (Drivestatrion HD-CEU2 1TB) was working fine yesterday. And when i woke up and turned on my harddrive this morning, my computer does not seem to be able to read it.

Ive tried restarting both computer and harddrive, reinstall all drivers & trying it on different computers but the problem still exists. The harddrive will appear as "Local Disk" in My Computer instead of the usual HD-CEU2. I've tried calling customer support but their line is on hold.

Please help ASAP. Thanks.

Does the unit show up in disk management?  What options do you have when you right click on the device?

I also have the drive.  It is on a Windows 7 Ultimate system.  It was on a Windows 2000 system.  It was working fine.  The RAM on the machine went bad and now I am getting "This device can not start (Code 10).  I have tried hooking it up to my netbook and the driver fails on it as well.

The driver is USBSTOR.SYS

from Microsoft

6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255)

If I try to update from the internet, it says the current driver is the most current.

A general reply to this thread is that if the device cannot start or is unreadable on not just one but multiple computers then you've most likely (not 100% but close) have a bad HDD.  If the device "cannot start" according to Windows this can also be symptom of possible failure as well.  For those having issues when connecting their drive to multiple computers I regret to inform that you'll probably have to call your regional tech support for a replacement.  With driver issues there are no drivers we provide and for USB mass storage devices have not been provided by manufacturers for the past decade.  It's possible the driver installed on the system could be corrupt at which point a repair/full install of the OS might be necessary.  You might be able to run sfc (system file check) /scannow and repair damaged or missing files such as drivers though this is not guaranteed.  Hope this helps a little.
