I received my new LinkStation Duo 2TB on Monday. Setup the device in a few minutes. Started copying my files to the nas on Monday. Tuesday night, copied more files to drive. Suddenly, got error because drive was inaccessible. Closed my explorer windows and loaded the navi2 software. Couldn't access nas from there. Restarted LinkStation, but still could not access drive. Shut it down for the night.

Wednesday, started it up to see if anything changed. The navi2 software saw the drive after it booted up, but still inaccessible and then, the drive disappeared from the window.

I don't want to lose the data on the drives, but if pressing the button on the back of the drive will reset it to factory defaults, etc. What is the procedure for that, since I can't access it via the software or the browser.

Thanks for your help.

Pressing the reset button only re-sets the user configuration. No data would be lost. I would suggest downloading the latest firmware, installing it, and setting a static IP address for the unit so the mapped drive IP address doesn't change. If the unit is set up using DHCP and is powered down and powered back up it could obtain a new IP address via DHCP and the mapped drive would be lost.
