Drivestation folder that suddenly became a unix executable file

I dont know how it happend but my Folder with 80gb of files suddenly became a unix executable file and contains zero bytes... How do I recover my file? Im using imac.

I would consult a data recovery center for this.  You can use 3rd party software like UFS explorer, however you always run the risk of damaging the data more. 

 

If your mac corrupted the file structure of the drive then it should be easy. 
If the hard drive its self is defective then you are going to need to call them.
