Can't connect terastation III to second ESXi host

I'm trying to use a terastation III with two ESXi 4.0 hosts.

 

One of the hosts can access the station with no problem whatsover, and I'm able to create VMs on the storage as well.

 

The second host is a different matter, even though a side-by-side comparison of each configuration dialog shows the machines to be identical.

 

Following the same sequence, I can discover the terastation (it shows up in the dynamic discovery, and the static discovery with the same name as the host that does work).

However, the "connected targets" remains at 0, and the storage device does not show this as a connected client.

Thanks for any pointers.  I'm sure that it's just as likely that I'm fat-fingering some vmWare configuration.

best chance is firmware upate. 1.30

Unfortunately that didn't resolve the problem.  (However the upgrade was quite simple, so buffalo SW engineering has my compliments)

 

If I powerdown the first host that was working just fine and reboot the second host, that second host can now access the storage.

 

If I bring up the first host, however, now it can't access the storage.

 

Can the terastation not support two clients?

Sorry to say that the Terastation doesn't support SPC-3 and does not handle SCSI-2 reservations well with multiple hosts.

Also MPIO is not supported for multipath access for a single host.
