LS.CH1.0TL gives red error 22 - mount error

I've been having trouble with my new linkstation. Here's the history so far

Purchased it a couple of weeks ago

Had cause to want to reformat the drive, so chose the return to factory defaults setting

About 3 days later, it's still going nd the power got interrupted

When it came back on it just gave an amber warning 21 saying that it was checking the disk

This lasted a good day or so as well before it eventually went blue.  Hoorah!

But then it gave a red error - 22 meaning that it can't mount the disk, presumably because it isn't formatted

Now when I turn it on, it checks the disk for hours and then gives me the red light interspersed with blue ones.

So the question is, can it be fixed?  I do know how to telnet onto it and I know something about Unix, but not loads. Having said all that, it's in 'disk checking' mode at the moment, and won't let me telnet onto it. I've done that in the past though.

My setup is as follows:

LS-CH1.0TL linkstation that has been reset to factory defaults using the power/function button method, and is running the latest firmware, 1.21

Laptop running Windows 7

Also available, desktop running XP

All connected via a Linksys wireless router with the Desktop and the Linkstation wired in and the laptop connecting wirelessly

The linkstation shows up in NASNavigator 2.0 (ver 2.18) as LS-CHL0EF. When it was in red flashing mode, it didn't show up in NASNavigator at all.

Thanks in advance for any help

This means that it cannot mount the HDD most likely due to hardware failure.  Usually the only option is to have it replaced under warranty.

The use of telnet voids your warranty and is not to be discussed on this forum, please do not mention it again.

Yeah when it errors out it isn't even booted up.  You can try the TFTP or booting into EM mode, but as I stated this is usually a critical error.
