Hi;

I have a 1 TB. LInkstation Pro Duo Model# LS-W1-GL/R1-V3  / Firmware version 3.08.

Has anyone tried connecting a Linkstation directly to a Win2k3 server via the ethernet port (both server and LS have static IPs)?  If my Linkstation is now joined to my domain will I have to revert it to a workgroup in order for a direct connect to work?

Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert

yes you will have to set it to workgroup to use it directly connected to your server.

I haven't tried it personally, but logically speaking, if you have a CROSS network cable and connect them both, then Windows should be able to recognise it. Same way when you connect two PCs with a direct thernet cross cable (which I have tried and definitely works). If its on a different domain, atleast you should be able to get the domain listing in windows. Whether you can authenticate against it, depends on your setup.
