New Linkstation LS-XH2.0TL

Firmware 1.03

Device is one of three configured and working as offsite backupsetup with static IP and admin password.

Unit was powered off for 5 days, and on restart does not allow any connections via the configured password.

No shares can be viewed.

Tried resetting to default setting, but unit still does not work with default password. Cannot update fireware as password is required.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would try connecting the ls directly to a pc with a static ip address set on both in the same subnet.  See if you can ping the device.  Make sure on the pc your working on that all antivirus and firewall programs are disabled.  If you have 2 other devices in the same environment that are working then there is a good chance this device is faulty.  See if you can flash the firmware with the direct connect and if you can get access to it.

Does it show up in the NASNAVI at all?  It should unless you have an error/info light and/or security software preventing it.  This will give us more information on what is going on with the device.

Thanks for the reply.

Direct connect method is not an option for me now as I am now remote from the site where the unit is setup. Unfortunately there is no tech onsite that I can work with.

I tried to talk someone through resetting the device but I am told that the device only flashes amber and blue (initialize) for a very short time. I have not been able to connect using the default password after several attempts.

The device will show up in nasnavi but that is about all.. I can't browse shares etc etc.. I am told the unit has a solid blue light after it initializes..

What does it say for the hostname/firmware version?  It sounds like it might be in EM mode (theres no reason to direct connect if it is showing up in the NASNAVI)
