Is Microsoft MPIO supported on the Buffalo Technology 8.0TB TeraStation III iSCSI Rackmount Storage System?

Intel says you can't use adapter teaming with iSCSI so I wanted to check on MPIO.

What is the normal procedure for using both Nic"s?

AFAIK, The MS software iSCSI initiator does not support connecting through a NIC team. More information can be found in the MS iSCSI User Guide, available here:

That is why I asked if MPIO is supported.  I know that lan teams are not.

Oops! Sorry about that.

I'm assuming that MPIO is Multipath I/O... and MPIO is not supported. Sorry for my confusion.

Just an fyi, LAN teams are not, but if you use trunking in Cisco (or comparable) switches, you can get a more redundant configuration to work.

the lack of MS MPIO is a big hit though.  Likely related to how the device manages SCSI commands.  For MPIO support, you'll want to look at more business-tailored products and companies.
