Hello. I am using a buffalo drivestation (1 terabyte) and used a password to open using the securelockware on my pc. Now, the pc has been reformatted. I extracted the DriveNavi and installed the securelockware then rebooted. I can now see the drive, typed in my password and then whalaah....my files are nowhere to be seen except for one folder which contains word and excel files. my videos, pictures and other files which I put in separate folders are missing. However when i try to check the properties, it only has 300gb unused space which means my files are still there but I just can't see them. I never hid them purposedly in the first place which is very strange why I can't see them. Please help me with this. I need my files back. Thanks. John

Sounds like there may have been some file corruption or the drive isn't unlocked.

Yes there might be some kind of virus or file corruption. Is there any possible way I can retrieve my files without having to reformat the drive first?

PCPiranha

No, not that I know of.  I would contact a third party data recovery company as they would have the best chance of getting your data back.

What 3rd party can you suggest?
