I am denied access and I understand why but don't know the work around. Here is what I am doing:

I am accessing the drive through the run comand with the IP of the linkstation as well as teh My Computer folder as I mapped the drive. Now the drive and all of its contents did not have a security tab so I downloaded a program that put it in place.

On the security tab I have 2 groups or user names:

Everyone

root {HS-DHGL790\root}

None of the permissions are checked and I am unable to check them and apply changes, I get the error:

Unable to save permission changes on ******** Access is denied.

I do not use any kind of logon with my cpu and I am running XP home and the HD is NTFS.

Thanks in advance.

Is the USB drive a stand alone unit or is it attached to a NAS?
