Reconnect to EZ LS-C1.0TL on a new network

My wife and I recently moved and had to get a new ISP, which requires the use of a new router/switch.  Prior to the installation of the new hardward, I had the LS-C1.0 hooked up all fine and dandy to both of our computers in the new house and was streaming music from it as we unpacked.  As soon as the new cable modem and Ethernet switch were put in the line, poof the NAS disappeared.

I cannot re-map the NAS in XP, nor can it be detected using the Buffalo software.  Actually, the drive appears in the Buffalo gui and I can see I have about 187 gigs of data, but I can't browse the drive or access the files.  I get an error message that says the drive has already been set up and instructs me to reinitialize the drive before attempting to connect with the software again.

I have not checked print functionality yet, but as we were using the LinkStation as a print server I'm guessing we won't be able to print until we resolve this.

1) Why can I not re-map the drive in XP Explorer?  Or how should I check that I'm doing it properly? (maybe I can connect this way, and I'm just doing it wrong)

2) If I re-initialize the drive, does that wipe the data?  I don't want to do anything that will kill the files.

3) Disregarding 1 and 2 for a moment, what is the best way to reestablish the network connection to the LinkStation?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you can see the device and the ip address is in the same subnet just map it by going to start run or search putting in \\ipof buffalo ex \\192.168.11.2 push enter, right click on the shared folder and map net work drive, give it a new drive letter and reconnect at login.  If you can't get the ip address from nas navigator.  Power device down, then flip the switch to auto and it should get an ip from the router.

Hey Kameran, thanks for the tips.  Tried both, unfortunately neither worked.  I still can't connect to the LinkStation.

EDIT: I think my problem might be related to my router.  I'm going to try dorking around with that and report back.

If you can log into the GUI then go to maintenance>initialization>restore.  That will restore it back to defaults ( you will not lose any data) and release all the user configs.

JoshC, thanks for the tip. I don't see those options in my GUI, however.

Aha!  Got everything to work by manually assigning a new IP to the LinkStation, pretty much in line with Kameran's suggestion.  Just was not able to do it a couple days ago for some reason.

Thanks  for help.
