Hi experts,

I have a  Buffalo LS-W2.0TGL/R1 LinkStation Pro Duo (1 TB, new version with two USB ports and only one function button, actual firmware 3.09).

Following happened since 5 days:

1) Unit invisible to NASNavigator

2) Unit invisible to Installation Software which detects LinkStations on all IP addresses

3) Unit is in heavy disk operations (both green lights are flickering)

4) Power switch is in position "OFF"

Problem:

I tried to switch the unit off by moving the power button to "OFF" after I recogniced that the unit is invisible to NASnavigator and data shares got unavailable.

After that, since 5 days, nothing happened and unit is still running with heavy disk operations and it is still invisible and does not switch off.

Is there any way to switch the unit off without unplugging it from power?

Please help.

Many thanks,

Chris

The only way beside the switch and unplugging is through the web interface, but I suppose you probably can't get there either.  Most of the time I see this it shortly resuls in an E04 error (bad HDD).  If your only option is unplugging the power then you have no choice.  When you get it booted back up, make sure that you have all of your data backed up.
