Good morning all!

I have the above stated link station, and I had an old disk go out. When I ordered a new disk and put it in, it will not give me the "rebuild array" button. However, if I swap back to the disk that had failed, and then click onto the array, the button shows up. Obviously I do not want to try and rebuild the array with the drive that originally failed...

A few things:
1 - I have tried formatting the disk in the Drives section. The drive shows as "Normal" status, and the rebuild button does not show up.
2 - I have plugged the drive into my PC, and used used the "diskpart -> clean" command to clean any partition or formatting information from the disk. The drive shows as "unformated" status, and the rebuild button does not show up.
3 - The drive is at least as big as the drive it is replacing.
4 - I have tried following the directions of every knowledge base/instructions I can find from buffalo.

I have actually tried this with several drives(western digital, seagate, and Hitachi), but the ONLY drive in which the "rebuild array" button will show up is the original drive that failed. Is there some process, or command I am missing in order to make a new drive ready or recognized as being able to rebuild the array with by the linkstation?

Have you rebooted the unit? The LS does not support hot swapping drives so the drive has to be inserted with the unit powered down.
