terrastation live - can't load kernel error

After the power outage my Terastation ended up with "cant load kernel" error. i tried updating the firmware but it always come with message " update timed out, exiting". i tried searching for the solution but all the references to the "forced firmware loading" are deleted. can somebody help me with advice?

can somebody help me? all my important files are on this machine.... HS-D2.0TGL/R5, trying to load 214-102 update...

If you are getting an E04 error then the unit isn't booting.  The unit has too boot for the unit to accept a firmware update.  To get the unit to boot you can try booting it into EM mode by holding down the init button as you turn the unit on, or you can try our TFTP procedure:

I started with an e04 error to do with loading the kernel. I turned everything off got the same message. Then miraculously, or so I thought, it powered up. But now it shows it is all used (as it was) but the NAS Navigator says that it is unformatted. Please don't tell me I have lost 2Tb of data...

OK, here what happened.... First, i was unable to see FAQ ( forcing firmware) until i changed from IE to Chrome. Than i tried to do a forced update, but it did not work, machine will give me E04 or go straight to EM. Than, i connected it directly to the computer with CAT5 cable, set the IP, tried forced update, and it worked!!!!

Now, I'm getting RAID Error E13, and HD1 ERROR E23, but machine is accessible on the network, and all of my data is backed up.....

Next step is going to be replacing the HD1.
