Problem installing Twonky 5.1.2 on Linkstation Live LS-CHL

Hello,

as Buffalo is still not able to install a never Version of the TwonkyMedia Server on the LSto fix the Problems with the Sony TV's I try it by myself. version 4.4.18 does not fix the issue so I try Version 5. But I have the following problems:

 

I try to install Twonky (twonkymedia-linkstation-live-5.1.2) on my Linkstation Live LS-CHL (FW 1.07) but I don't have success.

I could install Version 4.4.18 but this doesn't fix my MP3 issue which I have with my Bravia TV.

At the end of the installation proces I geht the following error message:

It looks as if the Installation process doesn't copy the twonkymedia-server-default.ini into the Twonky folder. And when I look, it's not there. When I copy it manually and install the Server again, I don't get the errors but the Twonky Process runs as a "ghost" and I can not reach the Webpage.

Is this a known issue with the Version 5.x installer and does anybody know how to fix this??

I don't think you are going to get any help here with that, as far as I know hacking into the LS to install a newer version of Twonky is considered a no no here and none of the mods will help.

 

With that said, how did you install it. Did you just download the latest versiona nd install it using the installer or did you have to do the whole telnet thing?

I also did some Telent settings but not very much.

 

As I wrote, I can install Version 4.4.18 without problems but the same steps with version 5.x givethe error and it's not working.

This is not supported.  We do not condone the use of telnet either.  The Twonky Media server is in the firmware not separate software.
