I currently have a LS220D463
Looking to Add 2 More Drives
Thinking of Buying another linkstation 220

Q1
Can they Be linked together as 1 Pool ?
Q2
Can the newer 220 be the Primary ?
      Q2.1 the new ones don't have the smb issue ?

I'm not sure what you're asking for with Q1-2, if you're referring to something like iSCSI then I think the answer is "not with the stock firmware"

For 2.1-2.2 SMB is part of the firmware, any issues will be the same on both devices assuming you install the same firmware and configure them the same.
