Formatting Terastation iii 2TB taking a long time, need help

I'm having trouble formating the hdd on the Terastation iii 2TB and I'm not sure what to do

 

I broken up the disk array into 4 separate hdds, and I formated 1 of the hdd.  It's been 24 hrs now and the amber light LED is still on.  The display also indicate "DISK1 Formatting" and has a "I20" at top right.

 

Last night, I turn my PC off but kept the Buffalo on.  So I'm not sure what's happening with it now if it's still formatting.  Should I do a reset or leave it like this?  If it is still working, does anyone knows how long it will take to format just a single drive 500gb?

I recently had to bust up an array and format each of the four drives in my 2 TB TeraStation. It took less then 30 min. to format a single drive. I seem to remember that I had to restart it at one point (I think after formatting the first one). At first I thought I had a bad drive because the red led was showing for the first drive, but it went back to normal after it restarted.

Thanks so much in giving me some feedback.  So is it safe for me to turn the unit off and reformat again?  On your case, your restart was during formatting (work in progress) or between a completion of one formatting to another?

I would not adivse stopping it now.  The best way to wipe the unit clean is to just delete your current array and create a new one.  It will save you alot of time  ;D
