LinkStation Pro Duo 2TB - missing menu in web access GUI

I've just acquired my first Buffalo LinkStation NAS, model LS-WTGL/R1 2TB, running firmware 3.09.

I want to switch it to RAID 1, something that should easily be achieved through the web access GUI menu. However, despite having set up the machine, installed the software, and got machines on my network to recognise the NAS, it's impossible to get any web browser to display the vital left-hand menu on the web access interface.

It has flashed up for a fraction of a second on one browser, and then changed to a solid grey box. It's the same in IE, Firefox and Chrome.

I've tried looking at the source in FrontPage and sure enough the menus are in the code - however, when I try preview, it keeps delivering scripting errors.

I have tried disabling Kaspersky and Windows firewall, without success. I've also checked

I have also tried on both XP Pro 64-bit and 32-bit machines, repeating all the above steps (disabling anti-virus, etc), and get the same grey area where the menus should be.

I'm now completely baffled...and am desperately looking for help!

The architecture here is a BT ADSL hub feeding a Vonage router (into which the NAS is plugged) and then all pcs are fed from the Vonage router via a Netgear dumb hub.

Looking forward to hearing that there's a simple solution to get this backup device operating in the way it should!

Try a direct connect to your buffalo after setting a static IP address to your workstation will let you know if you have any network issues with the device.  From there if you are logging into the web GUI using the IP address in your web browser and using admin for username and password for password (default setting) (use your own password) make sure to use admin login.  If that doesn't work try flashing the firmware to 3.10 from our support > download site.

I have exactly the same issue.  Have you had any luck fixing it?
